Content:
A major evolution in periodontology has taken place with less invasive surgery and more sophisticated approaches.
The predictability of the different therapeutic modalities and the long-term prognosis involve a scientific approach in all clinical procedures using one or several delicate osseous and/or muco-gingival plastic surgeries.
Part 1 focuses on Crown Lengthening.
Learning Objectives:
-Recognize that a harmonious smile does not just come from beautiful lips, but also from a perfectly healthy gingival frame and well-aligned, healthy, natural teeth.
-Understand why gingival recession is a serious concern both functionally and aesthetically.
-Learn to increase the axial length of the crown by surgically moving the marginal gingiva and/or alveolar crest bone to a more apical position.
-Become familiar with the multifactorial ethiologies of gingival recession.
-Learn the different procedures to treat gingival recession, involving flap elevation and tunneling technique.
